Children Health and Cleaning

“We cannot sanitize our way out of this pandemic” was a quote that stuck out last week when I joined the Children’s Environmental Health Network webinar on Safer Cleaning, Sanitizing & Disinfecting in Child Care During the Pandemic. As many childcare programs have ramped up cleaning procedures this year, I recommend this webinar which highlights best practices in cleaning with children's health in mind.

One take away from the webinar is recognizing:

1. Stay home when sick or not feeling well (Reduce source)

2. Ventilate rooms well

3. Use HEPA filter (ideally)

4. Stay with "Require masks" inside

5. Disinfect (with proper and knowledge-based approach)

6. Educate others
