Healthy Summer Treats

Summer is here! With the warm weather and longer days, gatherings and celebrations are a common enjoyment for many. Many times we celebrate these events with sweet treats, however this summer is a great time to start choosing healthy options for you and your family. One summer go-to treat are Popsicles! However, looking more closely at the ingredients many of our favorite Popsicles have high levels of refined sugar, corn syrup, artificial flavoring and colors.

  • Look for 100% fruit juice options

  • Avoid artificial coloring and flavorings

Peach Strawberry Yogurt Popsicles

• 3 cups strawberries, pureed to 1 1/2 cup

• 3 cups peaches, peeled and sliced, pureed to 1 1/2 cup

• 4 tablespoons honey

• 2/3 cup vanilla Greek yogurt

  1. In a blender, puree strawberries with two teaspoons of honey, then set aside. Clean blender.

  2. Puree sliced peaches with two teaspoons honey, set aside.

  3. Layer the Popsicle into molds.

  4. Tap the mold on the counter to make sure all of the layers settle.

  5. Use a small spoon to swirl from the bottom to the top of the mold a few times to create a pattern.

  6. Gently tap the molds on the counter top to remove any air bubbles. Insert the Popsicle sticks, and then freeze for at least 6 hours.
