Who We Are
Founded in 1979, the Council is a non-profit agency that offers a variety of services for parents, child care providers and the community that are essential to the delivery of quality child care in the county.
We receive State Department of Education funds as well as contributions from businesses and individuals.
Our mission is to improve the availability, accessibility and affordability of quality childcare.
We fulfill this mission by:
Increasing the supply of affordable, quality childcare in Marin County that meets parental needs
Improving stakeholder access to high quality information about childcare
Supporting families enrolled in the subsidy program in their efforts to achieve self-sufficiency
Advocating for full funding of childcare subsidies for all eligible families
We contribute to the quality of life in our community by providing leadership and support towards creating a comprehensive system of childcare. Our fundamental goal is to enable people to make informed decisions about childcare. Our work is characterized by competency, respect, integrity, and compassion.
